LARGEMOUTH BASS
Largemouth Bass (northern strain) are a fun and popular game fish. When stocked properly with an adequate supply of bluegill and/or sunfish, these fish may grow as much as 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per season.

BLUEGILL
Bluegill are a good choice for a pond with predator fish, such as largemouth bass. They provide forage for the bass and reproduce often enough to stay ahead of predation. They primarily eat zooplankton, insects and other invertebrates.

CHANNEL CATFISH
Channel catfish are easy maintenance fish. They can
bottom forage for live feed or with supplemental
feed can grow more than 1 1/2 lbs per season.

HYBRID CARP
These sterile (non-reproducing) cross between a common carp and a goldfish are a good choice for aquaponics systems. They are hardy and can grow 1 to 2 pounds per year. Hybrid Carp require a stocking permit from the California Dept of Fish & Wildlife to stock in your pond (not necessary for aquaponics). Request a stocking permit here.

REDEARED SUNFISH
Some pond owners desire redears because they eat snails and are a good addition or
substitute for bluegill. We have a small amount of redears available throughout the year.

MOSQUITOFISH
These little fish are a great addition to a pond to help control mosquitoes by eating the larvae. They reproduce 3-6 times per year, providing forage food for larger fish.
